RV Village Campground in Mercer, PA

RV Village  (http://rvvillages.com/) is well worth a visit by tent, trailer, fifth-wheel, or  motor home.  And, if you are a member of Passport America (http://www.passportamerica.com/) it’s even better.

We were not locked into a particular hour to arrive, which makes it much easier when traveling on new roads.  When we arrived, we used our Passport membership ($14.00 vs. $28.00 per day).  For that price, we have free access to mini putt-putt, enormous pool, tennis court, basketball, volleyball, baseball, horseshoes, and shuffleboard – plus all the equipment for each.

If you are someone who likes to be included in camp activities, you might like this example:  on Father’s Day, they had a breakfast the women campers cooked in the pavillion, an evening pizza party, Poker Golf Cart races after dark, and an evening adult swim.

The campground is clean and well laid out.  Many sites (in the section we were in) were used as weekend homes.  Site size is pretty good and gravel/grass.  Our site (#172) was about 500 feet from the shower houses.  We set up our chairs on the back side of our motor home and had a great expanse of grass between us and the shower house.  It was a good place to play catch, tag, or whatever.

I don’t think you you’ll be disappointed if you visit RV Village.

Ten Days in Seattle, WA

We’re staying at a KOA in Kent, Washington, just a city bus hop from downtown Seattle.  I thought it would be easier to keep you up on a daily journal of our activities rather than try to say it all at the end.

Sunday, 8/03/08

Another nice day … most are in this corner of the U.S.  We spent the day reading the Sunday paper and puttering around.  Not muc going on.

Monday, 8/04/08

We are getting the bus ready to travel today instead of tomorrow so we can go into Seattle just before we leave.  When the bus has not moved in a week or more, there are things that have to be check, i.e. the house batteries, new fresh water, tire pressures … and on and on.   We’re getting antsy and want to start moving again.

RV Parks

Did you know there is a great RV park in … ???

We thought whenever we spent time in any RV park that was way beyond the ‘norm’, we’d mention the name of the campground under the Camp Sites category, including its location, the cost, and why we liked it.  This won’t include the average campgrounds, which are always pleasing, but those that some how excelled  in our estimation.

We won’t add to the list until late April 2008 when we finally sell our home; but, if you have an RV park that held a special interest to you, maybe you’d like to add it to the list?
